Shake Your Tail Feather

How to Wear this Season’s Hottest Trend

high fashion feathers that move

Let’s face it, like most people, the majority of my dressier clothes consist of the colour black – or if I’m getting really adventurous, grey and navy! So, in an effort to keep things interesting, I do like to mix textures.

a classy way to rock the feather trend

While I have my share of sequins and leather, I decided to shake things up a bit and try something different – feathers!!!

This is a great, simplistic way of incorporating feathers into your wardrobe (a huge trend this season!). While the material is a little dressier, it is essentially a simple t-shirt style trimmed with long feathers. The feathers pick up all of your movements and will definitely turn heads!

I love paring it with simple cigarette-style black pants – this way the top really gets to shine and steal the show! I have also paired it with a pair of skinny destroyed denim – just for the contrast. Add a pair of killer heels and simplistic jewellery, and you’re ready to go!

…if only Mister Man can get dressed as quickly.

Oversized Blazer Season

I love the look of oversized blazers as a seasonal coat that I can wear over a t-shirt for that classic look, but still be able to pair it with my chunky knit sweaters for when the weather really dips down.

Well, it's officially blazer season, and in true autumn fashion, I am living in my blazers.

Lately, I have been obsessed with oversized blazers, so much that I "borrowed" this one from the Mister. I also purchased this double breasted blazer from Zara recently and I swear I'm living in it!

STYLE TIP: if an oversized blazer looks too big, just add a fun belt to cinch your waist!

How to look chic regardless of the weather (Copy)

Let’s face it, it’s difficult to stay warm in the cold winter while still looking chic. I’m here to tell you it is possible to look fashionable even when it’s below freezing outside!

Let’s be honest, living in Toronto in the winter is cold!

staying stylish in the cold winter months

Throughout the years, I have learned to make a few wardrobe investments – a good warm coat and a number of cozy sweaters. But when you have someplace nice to go in the winter, dressing for it can be a pain.  You want to look cute without freezing – but how?!! The colour – that pale blush pink – and the knit style was just perfect!

I found this chunky knit from H&M.  I loved it the moment I saw it!

Chunky knits can sometimes be a bit tricky. You want the proportions to be just right otherwise it just looks sloppy.

My favourite way of dressing up a chunky sweater is with a chic leather mini skirt.

I love shirt skirts as I think it suits my 5’3” frame best.

I did the half tuck with this cozy sweater as it shows off the details of the entire outfit the best.

As it is winter here in Toronto, I obviously opted for a pair of knee-high leather boots in the same shade of brown as my leather skirt.

This is a perfect outfit for casual winter get-togethers!
