how I got started

Hi there – and welcome to my very first blog post.

A lot of the time, I get asked “how did you get into photography?”  This truly is a story of how my dad’s hobby became my passion.

Since I was a child I was obsessed with my dad's camera - as you can see from this young picture of me playing with his film container.

it seems photography always made me happy - look how happy I am to get my hands on a lens cap!

By age 10, my mom decided to put me in modelling. While I didn't really pursue it, this put me in tune with posing and the mindset of a model.  it gave me the understanding of what poses work, how to make patterns and textures of an outfit pop, and the pros and cons of on location photography and studio photography.

As I grew, my dad continued to teach me various skills and techniques in film photography.

Over the years, I bought a number of different film cameras to play with and test these techniques, but it wasn’t until my niece was born did I try these techniques out consistently. Because I believe photographs are very important to keeping cherished memories alive – especially when watching a young child grow, for her first few years, she had more photographs than anyone I know! I bought different lenses, equipment and moved on from film to digital.

As the years went by and I developed my own style of photography, I started creating more fashionable, stylized shoots – both, for my nieces and nephews as well as new clients. With the never ending encouragement from family and friends, I finally turned this passion into a blossoming business.

Now specializing in fashion photography I create visual content and stylized shoots for fashion bloggers and style influencers.
